Paint correction is the process of machine-polishing your clear coat to physically remove the fine defects that dull it — swirl marks, light scratches, wash marring and oxidation. What’s left is the deep, wet-looking gloss the paint had when it was new. At the JD studio in Abbotsford we work under proper lighting so nothing is missed.
It’s measured, multi-stage work: we assess the paint, choose the right combination of pads and compounds, and correct in stages rather than chasing shortcuts. The result is depth and clarity you can see from across the room.
What correction fixes
Most of what makes paint look tired isn’t the colour — it’s thousands of tiny scratches scattering light. Correction removes them:
- Swirl marks and spider-webbing from washing
- Light scratches and wash marring
- Oxidation and dullness
- Water-spot etching where it hasn’t gone too deep
The foundation for a coating
Correction is also the right first step before protection. A ceramic coating or sealant locks in whatever is underneath — so we correct the paint first, then protect a flawless finish rather than sealing flaws in.
