Two full details a year suits a garaged car; four suits a daily driver that sees real weather and miles.
What changes the frequency
- Where it lives. Outside, exposed to sun, sap and road film? Detail more often.
- How you use it. Long commutes and highway miles collect more contamination than short trips.
- Passengers. Kids, pets and daily coffee runs mean the interior needs attention sooner.
- Season. Winter road film and salt are hard on paint — protection matters most then.
Interior vs. exterior
The two don’t always move together. Exterior care is usually more frequent because it’s about ongoing protection from the elements. Interior detailing is more about how the cabin is used — book it when it needs a reset rather than on a fixed clock.

A ceramic-coated car needs less frequent heavy work — the coating does the protecting. Regular gentle maintenance washes keep it performing, and an occasional maintenance detail keeps it at delivery condition for years.
